Grape Tomatoes in a Jardate 2018-09-07T21:45:00.000Z
Grape Tomatoes in a Jar
I often purchase grape tomatoes in bulk (2 lb packages) to make a double batch of one of my favorite soups: Roasted Red Pepper and Fresh Tomato Soup. That leaves me with about a pound of tomatoes still to use.
So what fits in a Weck 1/2 L jar?
About 1 lb of grape tomatoes.
I've figured out that if I wash the rest of the tomatoes and leave them out on the counter in a convenient jar, I'm much more likely to use them, preventing waste. The vibrant colors are so enticing, who could resist?
This Weck 1/2 L Tulip jar fits them well, slightly overflowing, which isn't a problem because the lid needn't be used. Place the colorful jar on your windowsill (briefly), near the stove or anywhere you'll be reminded to add these little tomatoes to your meal!
I like using grape tomatoes in Mediterranean Scrambled Eggs with feta and basil or in Meditteranean Pasta. You could also add them to a pizza or just snack on them in the afternoon. Grab a jar, rinse those tomatoes and display them for cooking simplification!
