Flower in a Jar

I've had the curiousity for some time about using jars as planters. I finally satisfied that curiosity today after getting my favorite flower -- a Gerbera Daisy -- but having no planter to put it in.

I decided to test two different jars: Le Parfait Screw-Top 1 L Jar (because the lid was broken) and a Weck Tulip 1 L jar.

There were slight differences between the jars.

The Weck jar has a larger opening, which was more conducisve for my good-sized 1 qt potted plant. The Le Parfait jar is just a little taller. The Weck jar has a larger diameter near the bottom because of its "tulip" shape while the Le Parfait jar maintains a more traditional mason jar style.

I've got to be honest...  I really wanted the Le Parfait jar to work because I thought it would look cuter.
